AGBAJE NOW GTBANK CEO

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) today announced acting chief executive, Segun Agbaje as its substantive Chief Executive following the death of his predecessor last month.

Agbaje joined GT Bank when it first launched in 1991. Former chief executive and co-founder of GT Bank, Tayo Aderinokun, died last month in a London hospital after several months of illness.

"Mr. Segun Agbaje is the natural successor to Mr. Aderinokun in line with the well defined succession plan of the bank," the bank's chairman Oluwole Oduyemi said in a statement.

GT Bank, one of the top five lenders by assets in sub- Saharan Africa's second-biggest economy, is also listed on the London Stock Exchange and recently concluded a $500 million Eurobond in 2011.

SHELL......Royal Dutch Shell says it has lifted a force majeure on its Nigerian Bonny Light crude oil loadings which was declared on June 13 due to leaks and fires on its Trans-Niger Pipeline.

ADVISE....Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba urges future ministerial nominees to always cultivate a good relationship with their senators even when nominated by Mr President. He disclosed this while asnswering questions from Senate Correspondents on Dr. Obadiah Ando's rejection by the upper house today.
